Northampton Area Community College has been awarded with a decoration in Community Leadership from the Bethlehem YWCA, which they will officially receive at this year’s “Breaking the Glass Ceiling Gala” next weekend.

The YWCA is focused on eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Winners of the Community Leadership awards are those companies and institutions that have helped the YWCA further those goals in the City of Bethlehem. This award is given out annually at the Breaking the Glass Ceiling Gala; this will be its fifth consecutive year.

The Gala serves as a fundraiser for the mission of empowering women and eliminating racism and helps to fund their programming for the following year. This year, they hope to raise more than $50,000 and they have an awesome schedule for the evening:

5:00 pm WDIY Private Reception with Terry Gross, host and executive producer of NPR’s Fresh Air
5:00 pm Wine and Cheese Reception
6:00 pm Dinner
7:30 pm Keynote Speaker Terry Gross
9:00 pm Award Presentations
9:45 pm Raffle Drawing followed by Dancing and Dessert
